SEEDS Dispatch 1: Discovering the Seed of Our Potential (3.23.20)

Welcome to our first SEEDS Dispatch! Our goal with this short video is to introduce ourselves, discuss the nature of the times we find ourselves in, and begin to outline the ideas we’ve been exploring deeply over the last few years.

We find ourselves in unprecedented times, marked by fear, uncertainty, and disconnection. We believe that we’re standing at a collective threshold, in which we’re being asked to face our collective shadow, liberate ourselves from old ways of being that no longer serve us, and remember how to live in right relationship with all members of the living earth.

You are invited to join us for these regular dispatch conversations to explore these thought landscapes and make meaning together in these pivotal times. The collective meaning that a people make together is the vehicle by which they can travel into landscapes of new collective stories and possibilities.

We are co-creators of the next chapter of our collective human story. What is the story that we want to write for ourselves and the future generations to come?

SEEDS Dispatch 2:  Emergent Possibilities Amidst Crisis

Welcome to our second SEEDS Dispatch! Join us for a conversation about who we are, our take on the nature of the the times, and what practices and meaning-making we are cultivating in our personal lives in these potent times.

In this conversation, we start by acknowledging that both crisis and opportunity mark this collective moment of upheaval and reorientation. We share about how this collective pause is personally encouraging us to move quickly toward a fuller embodiment of the long-held SEEDS values of increased food sovereignty and community-building. We share about the specific practices that we are utilizing to support the growing of food and community at the Turtle Lake Refuge Community Farm where we live in Durango, CO.

We go on to explore how localized food sovereignty and community resilience are ancient cornerstones of human life, which eases a return to simple practices that support alignment and wellbeing in these core aspects of human life. Cultivating one’s own food and sitting in circles with other humans is like remembering forgotten ways that remain deep within our ancestral bones.

We believe that we’re standing at a collective threshold, and that one opportunity emerging from within this collective crisis is to offer us the chance to reflect upon how we have been living (both individually and collectively) so that we can move toward a life of more conscious purpose, meaning, and alignment.

All are welcome to tune in for these regular dispatch conversations to explore these thoughtscapes and make meaning together in these pivotal times. The collective meaning that a people make together is the vehicle by which they can travel into landscapes of new collective stories and possibilities. We are all co-creators of the next chapter of our collective human story. What is the story that we most wish to write for ourselves and the future generations to come?

SEEDS Dispatch 3:  Collective Healing Through Emotional Presence (6.9.20)

Welcome to another SEEDS Dispatch! In this conversation, we start by acknowledging the intensity of the times we find ourselves in both individually and collectively. We explore the role that our emotions can play in helping reveal to us our deepest values and needs. We believe that we’re standing at a collective threshold, and that one opportunity offered by the collective crises that we face is the chance to reflect deeply on how we have been living and structuring our lives and society. This opportunity for reflection provides us with the rare opportunity to then move toward building a life and world founded upon more love, connection, and interbelonging. All are welcome to tune in for these regular dispatch conversations to make meaning together in these pivotal times of reckoning. The collective meaning that a people make together is the vehicle by which they can travel into landscapes of new collective stories for deepened understanding and aligned action. We are all co-creators with the creative force of life. What are the seeds of a new life and world that you’re planting in yourself and in the world during these times of healing and reconciliation? What conditions do these seeds need in order to blossom within yourself and to help build a habitable world for the future generations to come?
